How Many Kilts for Vacation?
Hello to the Rabble,
I have a vacation/holiday planned to Destin FL area for the first week of September and am going 100% kilted (except for the occasional dip and swim).
My question is : How many kilts would one need to bring on a week long trip? Most of the time will be near the beach, some shopping with my lady, and a dinner or two out on the town.

One tank.

Sorry, I disagree with you. Destin,Fl is a beautiful gulf coast beach. The weather will be in the 80's and the attire, shorts and beach wear. A "tank" = a heavy wool suit. While I certainly prefer tartan kilts, unless one is attending an indoor (air conditioned) affair, you'd want to be comfortable in the kilt.

I'd ask you this first - what's in your closet?
If it were me I'd bring one of my nice PV tartans, or a tank if I owned one, for the evening out, dressed up or down to suit the occasion. I'd throw a camouflage and one or two solid modern style kilts in the suitcase to live in for the rest of the trip.
Bringing one tank for the week would certainly work, but anything worth doing is worth overdoing, am I right or am I right?

Thanks Father Bill, and CCK. I do have one tank, thought it would be a bit heavy for the beach/coast. I have a casual Black Watch from USAK that will be for the drive down and can be "dressed" up a bit for the occasional night out. I do have a second Casual Glyndwr coming from USAK (special thanks to Lucas for finding me a "off the rack"in my size) fingers crossed that it'll be here in time to make the trip.
As a newbie to the Kilt, I was wondering what some of the more seasoned, kilted travelers would pack for a week long trip.

What you have sounds perfect. IMO your casual(s) will be perfect for the trip. Unless you're super tight on space, I say bring your tank anyway. If you end up doing something special for a night out and want to dress swanky, or you decide it's not too warm after all, you'll have it to wear.

Thanks Bob/ratspike,
I do have a X-Kilt that will make the trip, (10 ounce canvas painter's tarp WAS harmed in the construction process, ) Was thinking it would be taking the place of the usual cargo shorts. It's more than proved its worth as my "go to" dress for yard work and chores. (Folks at the local Lowes have been seeing it alot lately.)

And there you go. Sounds to me like you're all set. Maybe you'll even bring more clothes for the trip than your wife.

It's hot where I live, so I use mainly casual kilts.
