Any idea where? Years ago I was involved in a project that marked, excavated and documented downed war planes in Noord Oost Polder and Flevoland.

Is he Robert Edward Rennie? I walk and bike there quite a lot, I'll make a point to pass there and pay my respects, if that's alright with you.

My Dad was a RCAF Sergeant-Navigator on Lancasters, but he never really discussed the war with us, so I don't know where he flew out of in England.

Fantastic pictures Alex and what a great experience. I'm aiming to get to East Kirkby on Tuesday just to see them flying. Entry is sold out, so will be an outside view, but it is your post which got me started investigating the flying programme.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Yes... I would be very grateful if you were to do that.

Passing there this weekend on my way tot the Highland Games in Wijhe, across the river IJssel. I like to walk with a purpose, and it promises to be a beautiful stretch from Heerde to Olst.

I just read this entire post, because of the shared respect between members. I am touched by your kindness. It makes me proud to be a member. Furthermore, the pictures were spectacular. I love the history of this era. It shows the very best of what humanity can do in times of trouble. Thanks to all for sharing.
Cheers.
