I went with the tank (there's a new way to use that word for me) 16oz, 8yd, hand sewn. An absolutely beautiful and quality addition to my wardrobe. Not something I'm to go mudding around in, I have other clothes for that sort of thing. But it's price is not at all going to deter me from wearing it routinely as is my other 'good clothes'. My brother has a 13oz, 5yd 'casual' and his is also a very fine looking kilt - nor would he go mudding in it even at about half the price of my hand sewn. I propose that the first kilt (or any) is a matter of want and budget. Be pleased with your decision of which to acquire, but do not allow yourself to accept anything less than the quality promised by the provider.
