No, no, no, no, NO!! No way this girl would every be caught dead in a "Hello Kitty" tartan. I could be persuaded to wear the "Ladyboys" tartan if they ever hire me as a dancer in their review. Ya.... that ain't happening either.

???? color me confused, here. I'm not sure what you're getting at, though I can hazard a guess.

Are you suggesting that the Lady Boys of Bangkok are not in fact "ladies" as per the standard old-school definition? I don't think you'll find any argument there, and probably not from the dancers, either. It's a BURLESQUE review, after all.

IF I INTERPRET YOUR MEANING CORRECTLY, I would also assume that you feel that "gentlemen" don't attend such events. Thus, you are saying that the lad who posted in the pics forum, shots of himself and his wife at another burlesque review is not a gentleman, and therefore by extension, his wife is not a lady.

IF I INTERPRET YOUR MEANING CORRECTLY....

I've been to a burlesque show. I've even been to a strip club, though I can't say that it was worth the exorbitant price of admission and the insane price of the beer. It WAS however, worth if for the singular experience of watching a young woman walk out and take a large proportion of her clothes off to the accompaniment of Richard Strauss's "Also Sprach Zarathustra". I honestly laughed my head off at the absolutely insane incongruity of those two things. Since I've been in these places, I assume that IF I INTERPRET YOUR MEANING CORRECTLY, I am not a "gentleman" either.

I'm OK with that. Then again, maybe I'm not interpreting your meaning correctly. It's happened before!

I don't think it has actually been mentioned yet in this thread, and I was hoping I wouldn't have to spell it out, but let me clarify my own comment where I said: 'Except... I don't think those are "ladies".' This is from the FAQ section of www.ladyboysofbangkok.co.uk:

"What exactly can I expect from The Lady Boys of Bangkok?
Sixteen of the world's most beautiful show-girls (who just happen to be men) in a glamorous and funny cabaret show, flamboyant costumes, painstakingly immaculate makeup and show stopping choreography are the hallmark of this truly unique blend of cabaret."

So... I don't believe those are "ladies" as per the REAL standard old-school definition (biologically speaking). Just let that sink in for a moment.

    Carry on.
