Based on a conversation I had this weekend with a friend of mine which is part of the Friends of the Tartan Museum, it would seem they have received a decently large sum of money recently to help turn things back around.

I guess that's good news for people who like the STM. I was one of those, until my visit. I was not treated well. The people who were the caretakers (!??) didn't give us the time of day, so I won't be dealing with them again, sadly!

I also had a bad visit after the Stone mtn games last year. We purchased several items at their booth at the games, asked two different people if they would be open on Monday so we could visit, Assured that they would be open. Made a special trip up on Monday, closed. Made phone calls and got the door open, no goods to speak of, did the tour, probably less than a dozen words from the lone individual. Being a member, have donated funds, purchased from them for their support. Not that I mind driving from Oregon to attend the games and visit the museum, nice 5 hour trip through scenic country! Something about my attitude I guess. Hope they are able to make a turn-around.
