    Dixon Scottish Games, California USA

Fun time today with some of the NorCal Rabble. Here are some photos of the event. It's a low-key smaller games in Northern California, about an hour north of San Francisco.

A few more pics, showing the range of kilt wearers, outside the pipe bands. It was about 75-80 farenheit, so warm but not as hot as last year. Overall, a casual look. I wore a short sleeve button front collared shirt, but was in the minority. Tees and polo shirts were the majority.

I liked the grandfather with the little girl in pink on the stage, and the guy looking toward me and the older gentleman with the walker heading the other direction. I also saw a few families with most everyone in tartan kilts. One Buchanan, one MacDonald. Full range of generations, but somewhat lacking, unsurprisingly, in the 13-18 yr old range.

Finally, some pics of Bethany, and the other athletes, and Alan, who looked pretty impressive on the sheaf toss, but not sure how that ended, as we went off to watch the pipe bands.

Great set of photos. The 13 to 18 yr. olds didn't get their texts in time, is my bet for their absence.

My 13 year old came with me and had a good time, but not many other teens were seen except in the pipe bands. Coincidentally, a classmate of my daughter is a drummer and her band was there, so that was a fun surprise. The classmate's sister is a piper and she ended up winning the solo grade 3 piping competition.
