25th anniversary Chesapeake Celtic Festival
The Chesapeake Celtic Festival will be this weekend, October 4 & 5, at the Furnace Town Living Heritage Village in Snow Hill, Maryland (just south of Salisbury on the Delmarva peninsula). This is the 25th year for this event. Susan and I have attended this event for several years now and it's where I bought and wore my first kilt (bought it, put it on and have been kilted since). It's not a large festival (in many ways a positive thing) but it is a very nice one in a beautiful setting. If you live on or near the Delmarva peninsula, it is well worth attending. You can get more information here.
Here's a couple of pictures from last years event.

The little dog is our Phoebe, wearing a pair of my old flashes.
I'll be wearing my dandelion so, please say hello.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
