Re-placemrnt kilt straps

So I need to replace a strap on 2 separate kilts. I looked on-line and it seems that the straps I need are larger than what folks sell. They measure 1.25" and the largest I see for sale are 1" am I measuring wrong? Does anyone have a good source with a reasonable price?

1 1/4" kilt straps are the standard for a guys kilt.

Almost any kiltmaker will have them. Most will be willing to sell you some.

Barring that, try Highland XPress. It's where i get mine.

Hi there. Seems to me the straps you are looking for shouldn't be that hard to find; that is the width of all the straps on my kilts. However, if you aren't having any luck, Robert Pel at RKilts makes his own straps. They are good and beef, so they should never wear out ...and 1.25" in width. I remember seeing something just recently that he was having problems with his website and had nuked the whole thing to start from scratch; but you can still contact him via facebook.

I have no idea if they are quality, but I ordered a set of them tonight for a project, mostly because they are prepunched to sew on the kilt
