Boots

I live in Keens Sandals and to be honest have not worn shoes in over a year. But do Keens and over the calf socks work?

I dunno about the sandals, but my Keen boots are great with the kilt. I have a 4E foot, so I really like the wide toe box of the Keens.

Here is a pair that I have found. I do not want to spend a lot on boots.... yet.

But found a pair of ARIDER Bull-1 shoes that are around $40.00

I know, right? I always forget about Palladium when I'm looking for a new pair of boots, and remember again right after I've already bought something else. I bet they'd be even cooler if you hit them with a couple coats of beeswax, but I'm a real sucker for waxed canvas anything.

I remember spit shining those ever day when I was at bragg. We had to hold them up and our platoon sgt would come behind us and hold so many fingers and told us to count. If it was wrong, we had to keep polishing. Seeing those brought back memories.

Those days are long gone, no more bulling boots for me thank you.

Corcoran jump bootin are FABULOUS with a kilt, but mine are a little less shiny.


It's also tough to go wrong with 8 or 10 eye Docs.


I'm a big fan of Palladium boots and kilts.


Basic black tactical boots are another good looking choice. These are Danners but the various leather/cordura boots out there look pretty similar.

The tactical boots are the same as I wore in the ambulance service, except I laced in a zip so I could get them on and off quickly.

Where would you buy boots like you described - with the zip? Do they carry wide widths?

Google side zip tactical boots. They're pretty common. Belleville, 5.11, Original SWAT and Converse are just a few of many manufacturers who do boots with zips. I'd think most, if not all of them, have options for wide feet.

You can also get zippers that lace in to the front of the boots, so instead of lacing them up they just zip/unzip.
