    Kilted Friday (and Saturday)
At the grocer my wife was asked by a lady if it was ok to say I had nice knees. My daughter (22) chimed in with 'they're kinda hairy..like a spider'

I continue to be impressed by how approachable one becomes while kilted (nothing special, just casually attired) to the people who comment or strike up a conversation.

Kilted Friday at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco. No pix of me, but I had my wool Black Watch on with a brown/black houndstooth shirt, Harris tweed jacket, brogue boots, and black hose.

My kids thought I'd be the only one there in a kilt, but even the homepage of their website has a kilted man. Counted 8 or 9 besides myself. That is not including some of the characters in Queen Victoria's "entourage". Of the patrons, 1 utility kilt guy, 1 tartan casual with a tee, the rest is some more traditional looks, argylls, vest/waistcoats, etc. Sorry, photos wouldn't upload, perhaps they are too large.

You're not the only one with that problem. I experimented and found that size did not make any difference. Could not upload ones I had previously uploaded and are still on the site. There is a technical issue, see this post.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Yes, @Steve Ashton said they were working on it. We've all had that problem. Here; I'll try one now:

OK, here's my kilted Friday adventures today ( yes, it's my Friday....so I can... ).
I've got a pair of Dark Green Hose, my Dark Grey Utilikilt Mocker, Black Wide Belt, Black Watch Shirt, and of course my boots ( required at my big box job ), ready to tackle the day. After eight hours and 12 miles on my feet later, I did look "close" to the same, with a few wrinkles here and there....
Best story was, I was assisting a man in finding some tools he needed for a project. Afterwards, noting he had a Marine ball cap on, I said Semper Fi Marine and he responded, but then a lady to my right also responded ( not with the man I just helped) and I turned toward her. She was my height, quite in shape, late forties or early fifties. I asked if she also served, to which she replied, "6 yrs served, as a Lieutenant, in the Corp....OORAAH!" Then she said, "it takes a real man to wear a kilt, and you do it well sir"....to which I replied, "thank you Ma'am".

(whenever they get things straightened out on the attaching photos, I'll add one. Never had this much of a problem before.....)

( tried for the last two days to upload a photo, but to no positive outcome. Guess I'll be photoless until the admin gets this glitch worked out....... )

So today wearing my kilt from the parking lot to the office building, some guy behind me was loudly taking about how that we something he couldn't do just could never do. He admitted he was afraid of the reactions of people as I got to the stairs and he moved out of earshot. I'd share a pic but photos taken at work stay at work corporate policy.

Had to take my grandson to hospital for allergy tests this afternoon. Did get a comment from one of the male staff; "Aren't you knees cold?" I guess it is difficult for someone who has never worn a kilt to comprehend that a combination of kilt and hose actually keep you warmer than a normal pair of long trousers. At least that is what I find. No pictures from the hospital so, rather boringly, can only take another in the office tonight. Won't do it again, promise, but the last one was a bit rubbish in kilt definition terms.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

The Malcolm tartan lends itself rather well to the Christmas Season and this was my office attire, today.

Coming back from lunch one of my spirited ladies asked too, if my knees are cold? She then replied you look FANTASTIC!
