When hunting, in the coldest weather, I have no problems with my hands or my body, a good pair of gloves and insulated coveralls take care of that. I have found that if I can keep the back of my neck warm, I'm okay even in the coldest weather we experience in the Va deer season. For those who say I should hunt kilted, well, there is another problem. Most of the places I hunt involve trekking through the edge of swampy terrain, with the associated briars and other undergrowth. That's not something I wish to try in a kilt,
"A day spent in the fields and woods, or on the water should not count as a day off our allotted number upon this earth."

    -30 C (-22 F), with a wind, in a kilt? I don't see it!

Not just running from car to building or building to building.

    Comments?

At those temperatures I'm not outside for more than a few minutes anyhow. Warm building to warm car, warm car to warm building. I might be eccentric but I'm not crazy!

thx avonlea. in ur gallery the cat is it a maine coon? looks so sweet. i have one black tabby.

i have to agree casey. we have here -15 to -20 and the often quoted wind.
then i have to make may ways to downtown by public transport, including alsmost 20 minutes by feet. so i need 45 minutes to university and my parents car is not available every time.

    a) i need a military high waist kilt
    b) if that is not enough i ll get a long coat (flasher look ;))

Not really sure, to be honest. She was given to my wife by a vet. She was hit by a car, had a broken hip...the people that owned her didn't want to pay the bill, so they were going to put her down. The vet fixed her up, and offered her to my wife, for free. Lucky cat. She's just got a lot of long hair...that's all I know.

Sorry. off topic. err...ummm...yeah, I hate hot weather too. :P
