I'm looking at a Hiker's kilt from Sportkilt.com that is made of microfiber. Any suggestions?
Perhaps Marton Mills tartans wouldn't (because they are teflon coated)? I have spilled red wine on my MM kilt and had no issue wiping it with a damp cloth to remove. I'm sure there are "better" materials (Microfibre being one) but I'm not sure if they come in any range of tartans (if that's an issue).

EDIT: I just realised I had a scrap of my tartan left over, so I held it under the tap for a minute to test. No sign that it was absorbing any liquid! Of course, being saturated over an hour of running through mud may have a different effect, but it's a start.

    Cheers,
