Whether it is useful or not, the only thing I can add to the above post is that it may also depend to some degree upon the shape of the person in question.
I always feel it is unfortunate that lasses in pipe bands are required to wear a kilt, made as they are for men.
This makes a lot of ladies look very square.
A longer skirt would in many cases look more elegant And alluring!
The same goes re. the present question;
If it looks good and is elegant, the length matters not.
Your wife has no need to worry about this, just do as she sees fit and if it looks well, Everyone will be happy!
