    Cold Kneys

I don't know about you lot but its bloody cold around the kneys. This is my first winter in a kilt and some of my days out have been a real eye opener to the cold breeze LOL

    Norbo,

That is exactly why I have not worn my kilt lately. Wind chills of 25 degrees below zero make me a wimp. I do not need frostbite anywhere on my body that I would have to explain only to my doctor.

    Good luck on staying warm.

    Rebel,

Maybe we can get together some time when the weather warms up.

My solution in the very cold weather is to wear a calf length coat.

I know what Norbo means. Happily we are having our second mild winter in succession in Ireland and it has seldom gone below freezing so far. We just get more rain and storms from the Atlantic, which is the down side.
I personally can't see the point of wearing a kilt out and having it covered by a long coat, but I'm happy with a warm waist length coat and/or an Arran sweater and gloves - my hands seem to be most susceptible to cold.
Passers by will often remark that they hope I get the weather I'm expecting!

You fellows can visit me here! It will be 70f/21c today. 20c is our normal winter weather.

Over New Year's we had a real cold snap! The high was around 50f/10c which is as cold as it ever gets.

Then a couple weeks ago it was 80f/27c which is unseasonably high, in fact our typical August/September weather.

    No worries about cold kneys!

    I just found this chart

I wore my kilt last Friday, but it was an indoor event, so I didn't spend long out of doors. I haven't been for any long outdoor walks recently. I'll need to give very careful thought to how I dress!!

    Rebelrouser,

I better not get arrested. I already work in a prison. I do not want to live there. LOL
