    Good morning Gents,

Thank you all, for your input.

I have become comfortable wearing a kilt very quickly, due largely to the fact I wear one much of the time now. The old shorts I would put on after work have been replaced by a Neo-Trad. UK.

Personaly, I'm not worried about coming to harm. Just wondered if hostility had befallen anyone in the form of physical confrontation for wearing a kilt.

    Thanks again.

TO think people of Los Angeles would be more open minded with men in Kilts. But I guess it had something with the clutural make up and kilts don't get a whole lots of representation.

    But keep on kilting.

true riverkilt, the more we wear em the less we feel the reactions. i mean poeple probably look the same way but now i m not noticing it.

an overwhelmingly majority is positive and the few rude comments come from teen- or young twentyagers when they are in groups in drunk. just ignore them.
i had never to fight in my life neither would i pick up one. that s not my style. on the other would give me a chance to try my ju jitus knowledge...

self confidence is the key to poeples perception.

Although I am not kilted all the time, there have been times I actually forgot I was in a kilt! You notice others reactions less and less.

I'm sure the name calling will happen some day. I guess I may be overly-concerned about that because of an incident that happened years ago.

I was visiting a friend when the guy from next door shows up. He is drunk, as usual. He has decided that my friend is gay and he intents to do something about it. God knows what he thought about me. So he's standing there with a pipe in his hand. Obviously, we got away. But it still haunts me.

In recent years, I have taken Tae Kwon Do. But, as MnNice says, I would rather not use it ( or feel the need).

Maybe someday, people will be more civil.

    Comment, mention, question and reaction...

I say BULLOCKS!!!!!!!! to them all and wear your kilt with pride. No matter what one does, in todays society there will be always be some pin head who has to make a comment. So I say, thank the ones who provide you positive feedback and BULLOCKS to those who don't.... and for those who are simply curious, be polite, answer their questions, and thank them for their interest in your kilt.

If you treat your Kilt wearing like no big deal so will others. I have had a few run ins with over excitable youth but nothing anyone on this board couldn't easily handle. The power comes from with in and it is released easier through a kilt......

There's always a rather remote possibility of being attacked, kilted or not. But at least in a kilt you've got much better freedom of motion in your legs. Better for fightin' or runnin' is your call.

It's "bollocks" by the way. Bullocks are castrated bulls. Bollocks are what differentiate bulls from bullocks.
