"Go-to" Socks
I recently picked up a few pair of socks, bringing my list to: 1-dark blue, 1-light blue, 1-light heather grey, 1-dark grey, 1-bottle green, 1-scarlet, 1-brown, 1-sage with light grey turn overs, 1-claret/black diced, 1-red/white diced, and most recently 1-brown. Until I picked up this last pair, my go-to pair with nearly any outfit (at least when I don't feel like trying) was my dark grey. However, in spite of my initial uncertainty about the brown ones, I think they may be giving grey some competition. I like the fact that they stand in contrast to nearly all of my kilts (except my brown/tan philabeg), and my red garter ties stand out beautifully against them.
So what are your go-to socks?

I tend to have multiple pairs of charcoal grey and burgundy kilt hose for daily wear. Easy to use with most kilts and they always look nice. Beyond that the sky is the limit.

I have a number of the "Glenbeg" Kilt hose from Buyakilt. I have one pair of Burgundy, Lovat Blue, Lovat Green, Navy Blue, Bottle Green, Cream. They our my "go-to" hose for comfort and fit. I have to wear compression socks and the "Glenbeg" are long enough to cover them and have a nice cuff.

I wear Burgundy Coorymoor hose with my Manx Blue, and Black Watch, and hand-knitted Forest Green hose with my Manx Hunting (at the moment). I would like some Mustard, or charcoal hose, which I'll get to in the future...
Cheers,

Though I own several colors. my "go to" hose are definitely my claret red (they go great with anything), or when I want a darker, more subdued look, my charcoal.

I find Mustard to be the most versatile with the tartans I own... but I am developing to where I have a different pair of hose that I tend to wear with each of my kilts, and certain hose I wear for certain activities. I only wear certain hose for hiking... and when I dress up I upscale the hose obviously.
