"Unusual hats" is an understatement. LOL Hopefully, if they decide to wear kilts next time, they'll lose the hats or else this forum will EXPLODE!

The fans at the USA Sevens were wearing an amazing variety of dress. The ones that come to mind:

-seven fans dressed as The Seven Dwarves (get it? USA Sevens?)

-the main characters from Wizard Of Oz (including a large male Dorothy)

-the characters from the Monty Python "Spanish Inquisition" sketch

-the characters from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

-various African animals (giraffe, lion, etc)

    -monks with fake tonsures

-bananas (for some unknown reason USA supporters show up this way)

This is all in addition to the "normal" things like Wales supporters in daffodil hats, Scotland supporters in kilts, England supporters dressed as Crusaders, New Zealand supporters wearing kiwi (the bird) hats, etc.

    take a look

OK, I HAVE to go to a match next year! I had no idea. It looks like a lot of fun even without the rugby part. Thanks, OC R, for the new addition to my bucket list.

I'm with you brother. Go with a full face sheep sporran instead. Good to go for day or evening wear. Perhaps, design a new hat called the "BAA-moral".

Daffodil's (St. Peter's Leek) are the National Flower of Wales. Lots of Welsh wear daffodil, dragon (from the flag), sheep (have you been to Wales???), and leek (7th century king of Gwynedd Cadwaladr, is said to have ordered his men into battle wearing them for identification purposes).

The best Welsh costume I have ever seen at USA 7's was a guy who was dressed up as Tom Jones. We went over, talked to him for a while, he bought us beers... we all sang "Delilah".... oh, and he actually was Tom Jones!

(I can't seem to attach photos; will work on that)
