braces...
As Colin noted with "Monarch", I have seen it done before, but I would advise against it -- to wear them under a jacket and waistcoat (vest to Americans) is one thing, but as Miah stated, it doesn't look right to see someone wearing braces with a belt, and braces really aren't meant for kilts to begin with -- they are really for trousers.
As an aside, I love braces and wear them on a regular basis -- they look even better wi' a bow tie!:mrgreen:
