What I really like about it is the length. It runs around the waist fairly evenly, more like a jacket. It covers a kilt belt completely. If I need to put a tweed jacket on to dress up, it looks good. If I want to go without a jacket, it looks good. If I want to take it off and go more casual, I have my kilt belt on, which was not visible while wearing the waistcoat.

I have attempted for a number of years to convince my wife to copy this thing, as I am a complete fool when it comes to sewing. She keeps telling me it's not as easy as I think. I may have to give making one of these a shot, as I'd really like another.
