The National Archives own the ITC and this problem was not solely related to the tartan software but affect some of their other databases also. The Advisory Committee provide the expert advice to the National Archives staff. We are not remunerated and are not in anyway directly connected with the running of the hardware or software.
I understand. It's just frustrating to me, as one whose career path has been in the civilian Information Technologies realm, to see such outages. They happen. But the frustration is in the time they needed, to recover.
