Highland games pictures - help please
As I posted earlier, I have been tasked with creating a website for our local highland games in south east Alabama. The event will be March 19, 2016 in Dothan AL. The website is www.WiregrassHighlandGames.com. Right now it s a countdown till we launch at the end of the month.
I am struggling with pictures for this site. I am asking if any X Marks members would be willing to share any pictures they have taken at a Highland games event? Please understand, that for legal purposes, I have to ask you for permission to use these pictures on a public website advertising a non-profit highland games event. I will also need as high a resolution as possible since some images I have to fill are over 1500 pixels wide.
I am looking for anything you have, pipers playing, any athletic events, etc. Thank you.
I do ask that images searched off the internet not be posted. I have found some GREAT images, but I can't use them since I cannot get permission to use them on the website.
Any questions, please let me know.

You are welcome to use any of my Games shots -- although I don't know what the legal position is when other people are shown in my photos (and I don't have releases/permission from them).
Here is a link to all photo threads I've started. I seem to recall once photographing and posting a shot of every single clan tent present at a Vista Games, should be somewhere in that collection. I can likely come up with original (larger) files of specific shots but it could take a while as my photos are not well cataloged.
Cheers and best of luck with your Games!

Thank you for the offer.
The legalities behind it boil down to "did you take the picture?" If yes, then you can share the pic and give me permission.
I tried the link, it didn't work. I'll search and see if I can come across them. Thank you again.

you have my permission to use any of the photos I have put up. The ones here are pretty small so if you want them at a larger size let me know which ones you want and I'll provide them. I do have a website that has all the pictures I have taken johncharleshansen.zenfolio.com Most of the folder there are for sale but the highland games are free. If they need editing (they were just bulk loaded) I'd be happy to do that also. Good luck on the games. There is a password to keep these folders separate from the for sale items. scotfest

I will try to get you some of mine and will send them to you at the highest res that I have. Might take a little time since I only have RAW for all of them and just the JPG that I ran through Photoshop.

I've got loads of my own Highland Games photos on my Flickr account, link below.
Entering my home page a search under "Highland Games" brings up 20 albums and 959 photos but there are lots more under tags such as "gathering", "kilt" or "bagpipes".
Mainly from Scotland - true Highland Games from places such as Arisaig and Aboyne, "Highland" games from the Lowlands of Scotland including several consecutive years of our local games here in Hawick of which I was secretary and treasurer which sadly are no longer held. Also Highland Games held in England (Harpenden), Canada (Victoria) and USA (Ventura Seaside Games 2009 and New Hampshire Highland Games 2010).
Most are licensed as Creative Commons and are free to download and re-publish.
If you find one you really want but which is licensed by Getty Images, PM me and I will amend the license agreement to make downloading free to a fellow x-marker.

You're welcome to use any of mine. I tend to take photos of the pipe bands. You can probably do a search function on X Marks of my posts, and quite a few have been loaded with photos I've taken. But, many are at Games here in the West which have palm trees etc and wouldn't be very suitable for a Games in your area.
I took quite a few pics at the Bridgeport West Virginia Highland Games which will have a more suitable look.
Here's one of my favourites, taken at Bridgeport WV in 2011
