There are two types of Kente :- the Holland Print waxed cotton, which is thin but quite sturdy, and a thicker woven material. The thicker one is better for a kilt, but a lining of the thinner cotton can be used to add weight. Not too sure how it pleats, but I am thinking to ask a local kilt maker to help me make one
