Help in identifying tartan

Hello all,

It's been a while since I've graced these boards. Life has been rather busy these days, indeed.

I come to you today to request assistance in identifying a tartan that my wife and I saw on a travel show today. It was only the briefest of glimpses but I managed to freeze-frame it (and a rather cheesy line of dialogue from the show in the subtitles) in the hopes that someone might assist in identifying it.

On our searches, we came close with the Loch Ness tartan but not quite. Also, the Bell of the Borders was fairly close. Neither really hits the mark though. Surely someone with a keener eye can help us?

Looks like one of the many modern fashion tartans. Doesn't mean that it won't have a name, the label would probably have said if your wife could have had chance to examine it. The trouble with such patterns is that they come and go very quickly and it's very hard to keep track of them all.

Well found, it is indeed. Although it looked familiar it wasn't coming up on a colour sequence search, probably because of the coding of light blue as azure and vice versa in different Dbs. Before DC Stewart's Setts the tern 'azure' was never used, the sahde was always 'light blue'. The modern trend for having 3 shades of blue in some tartans makes things more tricky.

Well spotted! I was having the same problem in the tartan databases when using blue and/or light blue. 'Azure' never crossed my mind. lol

I rather like this tartan, as does my wife, so there may be some of this in my future, since I don't see any restrictions on it.

The " Diana " tartan looks very similar to the pic .

However , I noticed that in the pic , the tartan has 2 stripes in the light blue block and in the Diana tartan there are 5 stripes in the light blue block .
