I finally got sunlight, decent temperatures, the jacket and Marite all together in the same place at the same time. There is a reason that good tweed jackets aren't cheap, as they're a lot of tedious work to make, but it came out very nice. I have a batch of our tartan being woven in a dark blue with brighter orange version which will be 13 oz. from Marton Mills. She is looking forward to having something lighter for long skirts and it will probably get a similar jacket in Cheviot CHE105, Flintstone/Petrol, which is a dark blue herringbone.
It's certainly nice to have a competent tailor in the house.... even if she does spend her days as a PhD molecular biologist.
