Paying my respects today. Our town has a beam from the World Trade Center at a memorial park for first responders. I played "The Fair Maid of Barra" and "Amazing Grace."

Went out to the local coffee shop in my Ancient Campbell before work (at home), and out to sushi dinner in the Auld Scotland box-pleat. Woollen pleated bookends to the day.

Friday, my eldest daughter (3rd grade) wanted to join in on the fun. She wore a tartan skirt and ended up doing a presentation to her class on her Scottish heritage, the Clan Campbell, and what we do at home to continue our culture.

Indeed! We are discussing language in my World Studies class and I am showing how language changes over time. I have been showing them some Old English (Beowulf) Middle English (Prologue to Canterbury Tales) and then talk about Modern American English vs. British English and other dialects. We then discuss the impact language has on people's identity.

Friday evening I attended a small gathering to celebrate a good friends birthday wearing my USAK Casual (Scottish National Tartan). Unlike in past years it was a small gathering which included another friend who recently moved back to town without me knowing – I hadn’t seen him in 16 years! So here’s the pic… Birthday boy on left, long lost friend on right. This happens to be ¾ of our old band. Had a great time catching up and everyone loved the kilt.

Small detail for me… With exception of a little kilted jogging I think this was the first time I’ve been out in a kilt and not worn boots, but it turned out looking a little better than I thought it would. Perhaps this is a workable option for me in the future.

Aye, It's a kilt Friday here. I am wearing Royal Stewart today.

I am watching/babysitting my young nieces and nephews tonight. The youngest is two. When I wear the kilt, she points to me and says, "Kilt!"
