Recent Travel Report: WA to GA & NC

We are a week back home from an airline/rent car trip to Columbus-Macon-Washington GA, & Banner Elk - Greensboro NC. The kilt, as usual, served as an ice breaker, allowing us to interact with many people we would have otherwise passed by. I wore jeans and boots on the outbound Alaska Air leg KSEA KATL. On the return trip, it was Delta KGSO KATL KSEA. I will post pics after researching how to do it. For now, just know that checking the pointy things (kilt pins, too) in checked baggage kind of messes up the intent of carry on one-bag travel. Also: Delta informed all of us that the Sporran is a "man purse", and counts as a carry on personal item. I checked my carry on Kenmore bag with all the pointy things in it. I carried on an Air Boss, wearing the sporran. The Uncle Milty Travel Vest was a trip-saver! Glad I didn't have the Uke with me. Anyway, it was a smooth trip, and the people (including the ones enforcing dumb rules) were, well, nice. Now, to find out about how to put pics up on xmarks - finally.

Interesting perspective from Delta. My last kilted air travel (Canada) was computer bag, carry-on and sporran. Kilt pin went into the sporran before joining the line, it being a "pointy bit". I was asked about it on one trip. "Its jewellry. I put it there because it will beep in the scanner" kept them happy enough No SD, of course. Forgot about the flashes, though, since I had not used the velco ones.

    Looking forward to the pics.
