I will get to try out my new tent and I am getting ready to order a couple of new Balmoral's so I will look pretty

I didn't get to make the Estes Park festival, wife had knee surgery and had to be given shots for 10 days but she is doing good now.

The Central Texas Area Museum maintains a shop called the "Wee Scots Shop" next door, where you can buy clan ties, scarves, etc. The selection is not huge, but it's certainly the best in the area!

I'm not sure how many of you would be interested or know but the Longhorn BSA (Boy Scouts of America), hold their annual Highland Games at Camp Tahuaya (which is like a couple miles down the road) that same weekend. If you have a Boy Scout I would highly recommend checking out their website. We would go but our boys are 1 year too young to attend

Also, do they have any genealogy help at the tents?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Evestay - the convener for the Buchanan Clan Tent is Bill and Gina McQuatters a very good friend of mine. They will give you a warm welcome and mention Dave from Connecticut. They will have Clan t shirts for sale, I don't know about anything else. For the most part festival organizers don't like clan tents selling scarfs, clan badges etc. The vendors pay to be on site and the competition isn't fair to them but they should have those item available for you. You should have a great time.

Most clan tents don't offer specific genealogy help. The field is too broad and requires too many specifics. They will provide history and traditions of the clan and background information on the various surnames associated with the clan. Some conveners may be able to give you some general advice on how to proceed but that would vary from tent to tent.

CT, this answers my query well, sorry I did not know how to ask the question.

This is also what I was looking to answer.

    Again CT, many thanks,

    Tartan Dinner Dress

    For those interested

Frank Leslie (Clan Coordinator for the event) responded to my request as to what would be appropriate. From Frank's response he will be wearing "full black tie" (BBSB, dress shirt, bowtie, kilt). I'll drop it down a notch and forgo the bowtie. But it is an upper end event, BUT ALL are encouraged to wear what they can, but make it Scottish if possible (my thoughts). Forgive me if I have stepped on anyone toes.

Please forgive my ignorance. But what is BBSB?

    Bbsb

BBSB refers to black Barathea (a type of wool fabric) with silver buttons.
