Would you pay to wear your own kilt? The next two months at uniformed work are civilian dress Friday - for a fee to support the United Way campaign. Darn right I will! The Freedom casual today.

I understand that John O'Gaunt alias Silas Marner (?) of Canterbury Tales and Pilgrims Progress was a British Secret Agent operating in France. Perhaps there is a secret message in His tales.
There was a a drawing I found in a library showing him wearing the fashion of tight stitched cloth stockings held up to his pants or trews by straps known as points. The number of points worn gave the status of the wearer. If I remember correctly this was underwear
beneath his tunic.
This style of wear was replaced by Closely Fitting Tights for horse riding. You could probably date this fashion from your Literature.
Not the same as working class fashion of the same period. Difficult books to translate. Roderick.

Wore my Anderson tartan to Bisbee (AZ) this weekend. The days are still pretty warm here, but the nights are cool enough for sweaters, so I took and ended up wearing a loose-fitting rust-colored pullover. I got compliments on the kilt, but at the Italian place I had dinner at the hostess fussed over me and the sweater. When I left the restaurant I overhead her talking with a coworker; the guy said the kilt looked really good, but the hostess said she really liked the way the sweater looked on me.

I haven't posted here for a while because every day is a kilted day so Fridays are not too different for me. Today I am posting because I am wearing my "Gateway Kilt" the one that caused this whole addiction. Heritage of Ireland a budget kilt like those sold by buyakilt.com. Happy Kilted Friday everyone!

Chatted with Lady visitor from America . Had lived in Kansas and moved south west Coast.Scottish, Irish descent. Family name Smith.
In my family Granny as a Cook. We were from north west. Sort of Pictish Scot . So we were Clansmen of Stewart Clan or Forbs or Boyd.
The lady knew her Fifteenth century navigation. We spoke of Spanish , Portugese,French and British navigators. Vis. Captain James Cook.
His son Captain John Cook drowned in Poole Harbour where Granny's family had lived as sea traders.
She spoke of Hurricane System and we discussed Sea Traders.
The Kilt was Not mentioned.
Afternoon . Scottish country dancing in Marazion. On set of four couples. Only Two Ladies in skirts. First time I have seen lady Caller wearing
her trousers.
Talk of three day Scottish Ciedli in Newquay. Cornwall's biggest surfing town. Home of the middle class yobbos. Must check it out.
Suprised the Ladies were wearing Trousers on such a hot Indian Summer Day.
Two males present confessed to owning Kilts, but preferred to wear their gardening clothes.
Back upto Helston on Bus .South African gent complimented me on my choice to wear the kilt an spoke highly of the efforts and
sacrifice of the of the kilted Highland Regiments to keep peace in the word.
We spoke of a Kilted Scottish Badass Commando who killed Nazis with a Long Bow.
I feel the Gentleman was a bit of local colour and bit of a Space Cadet.
A long and interesting day in the Kilt. Saw both sunrise and sunset from top deck of a thirty year old Bus whist only ten miles from my Home.
This has been described as a shanty town of wooden buildings with thatched roofs. Traditionally inhabited by pirates and smugglers.

As I was inspecting the outside of a house today, I heard "Nice kilt!" from across the street. I turned to wave and called out "Thanks....uh, you too!" I was shocked to see another kiltie. He was wearing a black utility kilt and red t-shirt with a Batman picture on it. I said it was kilt Friday and he said every day is kilt Friday because he only has one pair of pants! We had a quick chat and I told him about the forum. It was a nice day, and I wish we could've snapped a pic.

Nice post! I thought First Bus had taken all the Bristol VRs out of service by now? where I live I've travelled on an aging Abellio London Dart single decker in my Dress Gordon kilt, and had little reactions from other passengers. was on call for work, so no kilted Friday for me, sadly. Kilts and server rooms don't mix, lots of bending and picking things up or repairing them also a little chilly
Kilted Technician!
