    MacDonald of The Isles Tartan

I was sent this from Bookster regarding their offering of MacDonald of The Isles tartan.

The three-piece suit in this tartan looks great! The tartan is not garish and the cut is conservative. Just add a pocket watch with chain, elegant shoes, a cape, a walking stick and a hat, and it's all together! Unfortunately, the price is a bit above my means, so I'll have to pass on this one!

Wow it's a bit much for me.

I'll stick with tartan for the kilt, tweed for the jacket!

However I do have a love for that tartan, it being the tartan of my first "real tartan" kilt back in the 1970s

It is a great tartan. However, I think that this outfit does go to prove that it is possible to overdo the tartan look. Personally I prefer the rather less in your face and more appropriate look of the tartan in kilt form.
