Ah, I've spent a penny or two at Duluth Trading as well - good stuff.

Very nicely done. I would/could wear exactly that look, minus the hat. I would be wearing a plain ball cap in place of the bonnet.

Thanks!
I got the bonnet mostly for games and festivals, though I have been known to wear my balmorals oot and aboot with t-shirt and jeans. But then, ask anyone that knows me, I've always been odd. ![Cool](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)
BTW the bonnet is awesome. It's very heavy wool, undyed so I'm guessing it's black sheep's wool (appropriate, no?) and it's been heavily felted. It's quite nearly waterproof, though you can soak it. It's the same bonnets as worn in the Outlander series though those have been 'weathered.' Since it's a representation of a 17th century bonnet the clan badge on it is an anachronism but as you can tell I'm not interested in period authenticity at this point.
Cheers!

I'm not jealous.....honest....my kilt n kit is put away till Kiltmas day, by she who must be obeyed. Love your outfit. The bonnet reminds me of the hundreds of Rannoch Warriors we had years ago when we were members of the Sealed Knot society. We travelled far and wide re enacting the English civil wars.

Good color choice on the kilt. My first is a traditional, but I do quite like these modern variants.

Thanks,
Truth be told I kinda wussed out on this one. I wasn't prepared to pay a lot for something I wasn't sure I was going to like. So I got a UT $50 kilt. I like the kilt and like wearing it. Only done a couple days thus far but I'm off to Scots on the Rocks at Moab this weekend. Should be bloody frigid. So we'll see how *that* goes, eh?
I've found a traditional tartan kilt in poly viscose at Heritage of Scotland for about $65. Thinking pretty hard about getting one of those, likely in Scottish National. Shipping is $25 but if you spend over $150 or so that's free so I'm trying to talk UrsulaHussy into getting a tartan skirt so we can both skip shipping cost.
Eventually I want either a ancient feiliadh mor or feiladh beag but I've not decided which way to go on that yet.
