My First Kilt!
I recently received my first kilt and could not be happier! Hand sewn by Stewart Rendall of Lochalsh, of 16 ounce Ancient Campbell from Locharron.
The workmanship is beautiful and I am very pleased. Even though this is my first kilt, I do not believe that it will be my last.
The sporran, strap, belt and buckle are The Artificer's work - I was lucky enough to get them before he closed his queue.
The socks are old rugby socks from college and not correct - but they were handy and I was excited to don the kilt and take a couple of photos. I will find some proper hose right away.
Now I am in the mood for a jacket and waist coat.

I thought I attached photos!
Sorry I thought that I attached photos. I will try again - I am a low tech man in a high tech world!
The photos show up in the preview and I have read the tutorial on posting pictures - I may need to ask my teenage daughter for help!

Looks like a good flow in the photo of you walking away. That is what one would want in a kilt. Thanks Phil.

Great looking kilt! It must be nice to have such a quality garment for your first one. As for the socks, it must be nice to have something from your college days that still fits!

Well done!
What caught my eye first, I must say, was the sporran. For me a quality sporran, especially one that speaks of traditional elegance, is as important as a quality kilt.
And speaking of traditional elegance, it's hard to beat Black Watch/Ancient Campbell.
BTW I find that sett size interesting, in 16oz fabric.

Great outfit. I particularly like the sporran. My first kilt is in the house but I'm not allowed to wear it till Christmas Day....grrrrrr! ![Rolling Eyes](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
