About a week later we left our home in Las Vegas for a skiing honeymoon a Mammoth Mountain, California in a '74 FJ55 LandCruiser.

About halfway into the 8 hour drive, at Sarcobatus Flats #2 (the phone number of the semi-operating gas station) the truck started running poorly. We managed to call the condo and tell them we were going to be late, maybe so much as the next day. I futzed about with the Goose (the 'Cruiser's name) and got it running well enough to continue. About four hours later we rolled into Bishop California about an hour and a half short of our destination.

The truck was barely running. So, we pulled into the service drive of the Chevy, Buick, Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, Datsun, Toyota dealer, crawled into the back and tried to sleep. About an hour later a cop knocked on the window and asked what exactly in the he** we thought we were doing. We told him and that since they opened in an hour or so, no, we didn't want to check into the motel. He laughed and went on his merry way. The next morning we found out the truck was in dire need of a . . . tune up.

We made it to Mammoth that day but had both caught colds from hell and to top it off it rained the whole week, eliminating the skiing portion of the trip. All in all, most of it was terrible. Which meant we had nowhere to go but up, and we did. We were very happily married for 33 years until she died of liver failure due to breast cancer.

So, do me a favor and donate to a responsible breast cancer research outfit and raise a glass to Beth White after you do.
I too will raise a glass to your Beth. My bride celebrated her 10 year as a breast cancer survivor in September.

We pitched a tent beside a remote alpine lake in Montana. A wonderful couple of days!

All you guys are sooo much cooler than me! My wife and I went to Key West for a few days. The airline lost MY luggage and I got hit on by a drag queen.

My wife and I honeymooned on Oahu, Hawai'i. She had been there many times, but it was the first time for me. It was magical.

Well we are not actually married, though it feels like it, we've been together 30 years first meeting in November 1985. The nearest we had to holiday is coming down to my sailing club for Regatta week, from Northumberland or Milton Keynes. We've never had the money or time to " go on holiday" and for the last few years we often spent our time looking after elderly relatives ( either visiting them or bring them to us.) Sadly her elderly side of the family are no longer with us.

Oh those who think that he's spending money on sailing clubs but doesn't have any money this years sailing club membership for a family is just Ninety Seven Pounds and just over 100 for next year I'm awaiting the Bill!

Looking at the above date! 30 Years where did that go? I think I need to do something this month!! but what? taking her out to dinner even just for two might not be acceptable, As due to Christmas works, Sailing Club Christmas / end of Summer season / start of winter season , Model railway club, autumn and Christmas , and those of her art groups we are out to dinner around ten times in as many weeks. At the moment It might just be a big box of chocolates...

Next year We might just get a holiday in, now how do I get model railways, kilts and sailing in and make her happy?

I think after 30 years your definitely married!!!, most certified marriages don't last that long, I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be accepted by your better half as a token of love. Kit

    Vegas, baby

We lived in NW AZ, at the time. So, Vegas was an easy choice. We were a relatively short drive away. Also, my wife had relatives there, whom we visited after, well, um, you know, we got acquainted with each other.
