That's a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. It might look nice, indeed, if they were split up, cavalry in one frame, the statues in another, etc. You've given me something to consider. It should be easier, too. I actually have several smaller frames with glass. Thanks. I'll sleep on it.

Enjoyed seeing the pics. And it seems as if you have a great start for an ever growing collection. Now, as concerning your statement that it might be "a silly waste of time," forget that notion. If something brings you joy and pleasure, and if you are neither hurting yourself nor someone else, then there is no waste. Everyone has different interests. Enjoy yours, and keep us up to date as your collection grows. We love to share in other members' happiness.

Thanks, Tom. I do enjoy collecting things. I have a collection of approx 10 plastic scale model sailing/pirate ships (HMS Bounty, Queen Anne's Revenge, USS Constitution, etc), mounted on a display board. We also have my deceased father-in-law's duck decoy collection. A couple are really old, like the cork decoy. I have several matted photos of my great great uncle Daniel Bruce Weatherhead, and his crew. He was a logger, for the US Army Corps of Engineers, just after the turn of the last century. The photos are of he, and his crew, in the Sequoia/Kings Canyon, CA area. Standing in front of the giant trees. I also have some old British coins, which are no longer in circulation. Not very valuable, just different. One is a Farthing, as mentioned in the New Testament. Also, I lived in Scotland, for two years, as a young man. I bought the Royal Mail collector pack of stamps, from the year 1985. Nice stamps. One series is of various cattle of the Uk, including Scottish Highland cattle. Anyway, I have some stuff, that kids like to see. As a cub scout leader, I plan to show various items to our scouts, in due time.

My dad used to collect coins, had some valuable ones. He and I would talk about them. Just before he passed away, he gave his entire collection to my little niece. Not that I expected anything, but the coin collection?! He knew I liked coins. Oh well. What are you gonna do?
