There's been a forecast of snow here for next week too. Quite early for the UK. Felt a kind of sleet on my face waiting for the tram this morning so I think it's coming...

Sheffield does seem to get snow early, until last year we used to visit SWMBOs uncle, in Rotherham, he was a tram driver back in the 1940ss

The actual wind speed we got here 2 nights ago was 66mph, and last night 45 mph Actually the weekend forecast has just come on TV as I type this, there will be high winds down the north sea and we can expect non settling snow. From the top of the scaffolding I can see the north sea in a northerly direction😰

I am pleased to report that the hot weather and high winds that fanned a wildfire in the SE of the state have calmed and the fire is now under control. Sadly, four lives were lost including those of three backpackers from Europe.

A rare sunny day in Scotland and my new granddaughter. Little ms Orianna of Edingurgh.
I find her brighter than sunshine.

Apparently it is cold down here on the south coast...

I went out earlier and thought it was just a little cool for tee shirt and kilt with sandals, but my blood was conditioned to Yorkshire winters during my first 18 years. Where I lived was maybe 300ft above sea level, but my brother moved to slightly higher ground and several times each winter he needed to go out and put red flags around his sportscar so that the snow plough did not hit it....

My third grandson is just beginning to haul himself up onto his back legs - can't go anywhere yet, but he wants to take a look at where he'll be off to....

In sunny North Queensland it's sun, sun and more sun. 27°c at 11:30 at night forcast for the next month sunny. In a drought, but not as bad as out west. Water restrictions in place at the moment. Our Town is called Brownsville at the moment instead of Townsville. 6 months summer 1 day winter and the rest are fantastic days. Wouldn't live anywhere else.

The gales forecast for last night didn't arrive till about 9 this morning. Its been blowing a hoolie, all day. It's now down to 50 mph wind speed at the nearest weather station. The wind has been accompanied by heavy rain, hail, occasional snow flurries and occasional sunshine.
