Does a red paisley vest go with a wallace kilt?

Does a red paisley vest and a kilt look good together?
I really can't tell if it looks good or if it's just a mismatch of styles.

'tis all very red... though that is a matter of taste And especially as we approach the christian holiday season, why not!!?

It will look better, however, if the vest is not tucked in. Some will say not to belt with a vest but yours is necessary for your sporran. Nothing wrong with the white shirt either, yet try some different colour shirts to see what it might do to the overall look of the outfit. As I've read here often; experiment and be comfortable with your own style.

I like it, but I've never seen anyone wear a wool kilt and silk paisley vest together. I normally wear that vest with my western wear which is what it is really styled for. I tucked the vest in on account of it's long cut and sharp angles. (on old style western wear the pants sit high about 2 inches above the naval and the vests are long and meant to be tucked into the pants and the jackets are longer with a split near the end so as to not interfere with horsemanship.) If you ever watched the tv show maverick you'll know what I'm talking about. If I didn't tuck the vest in the points on the bottom of it would go down to the sporran.

..still, tucked in is looking odd to me - as a matter of personal opinion and style.

I don't think red paisley goes with ANYTHING. So go ahead and wear it!

I suppose it depends on the look you're trying to achieve. It appears that you are going for some type of hybrid period look.

I'm not a huge fan of silk material. I prefer to go for matte.

This cotton red vest is a good example what I'd wear with that beautiful Wallace kilt.

    Not my preference

Sorry, mate, but I don't care fore the look, but that's just me. IMHO, there's too much red....best to use a vest that is not red but, yet, complements the kilt.
