Fatlips castle was great fun and as you can See provided some of the most breathtaking views. No trip to the Scottish Borders should exclude it

Thanks for the photos
Wow. Great photos. I lived in Scotland for two years, as a young man. The closest I ever got to the border area was Dumfries. My wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland, next year, and believe me, I will be visiting the border region, too. Because, just like you, my family came from that area (Berwickshire). The more I read about the area, the more I appreciate that there is much historical significance in the border lands, just as in other parts of the country. I want to see Caerverlock Castle, Hume Castle, and the abbeys. (among other things). I still want to see Stirling, Edinburgh, and other places. Thanks again, for the great photos.

May I add my thanks for these pictures too, Julia?
I love to see structures and landscapes like these. I was, however, disappointed to see that you kept your dark glasses on
I also enjoyed reading about those very different but formidable women Muckle Mouthed Meg and Madge Elliott.
