Mine are "Brooks". But saucony, under armour, and pearl izumi all make premium quality running wear. As I read somewhere here " it's all about the breeze on the knees "

Hello fellow Coloradan!

In the real cold days like last week I wore my 8 yards 16oz kilt, Under Armour compression boxers, Cabela's thermal undersocks, thick wool hose, and a nice winter coat.

I like the feeling of cold on my bare knees to ice it after many football injuries on them.

Being an old fat guy that was once fatter yet, I'm a little concerned about compression shorts leaving me with muffin top even a kilt won't hide. . .

I was out today with only on pair of boxer briefs and wasn't cold, but it's warmed up some, 'bout 50*.

I have not only football knees, but rugby knees and skiing knees.
Ice good.

Freep, I was there that night too. It was definitely cool, but Wicked Tinkers did put on a nice show. I had on a wool kilt with compression shorts, wool hose with my boots, wool sweater with a shell over it. Oh, and my cowboy hat.

I know there are more modern fabrics but as you can see, I still wear a lot of wool.
My knees and hands were cold, but other than that I was OK.

I find that a 22 oz kilt works great in the winter

This photo was taken after I took my jacket and hat off after I got too hot. If it's really cold wearing my Inverness Cape works perfectly.

I suspect the wool kilt will be warmer. I also suspect sitting there not moving had something to do with it. The other day I took a walk on the back forty (closer to the "back 5") 1/4, 1/2 a mile or so and I was perfectly comfortable. When I got back to the house I checked, it was 24*. I had on my utility quilt, Duluth trading free range boxer briefs, long sleeve t-shirt, fleece jacket and Cabela's wader socks. Not sure if it was the walking around or if I've just gotten used to it.

For all that I'll be glad when the UT wool kilt gets here. Should be on or before the 20th.

I just wear a nice 16oz wool kilt and heavy wool hose. Haven't had any problems no matter what Colorado has thrown at me.

I'm going to head to a friend's NYE bonfire in Conifer, CO tonight. It's expected to be 8 degrees or colder for hours.

It's the greatest test my kilt will face so far.

Here's my tools for the tonight.

8 yards 16 oz Ramsay Blue kilt
Pair of insulated undersocks
Pair of insulated thick wool socks
Winter boots
Winter coat
Elkskin insulated gloves so I can have easy times communicating with my friends in American Sign Language rather than those bulky gloves
Compression boxers
Thick beanie

My friends wouldn't be surprised to see me show up in a kilt, and they will say of course you'd do that.
