    ID of tartan

    Anyone knows what this rather attractive tartan is:

    I've seen that before, the particular colouring of Fraser where at distance the green sort of blends in with the blue, and the effect is of a blue tartan.

    Here's the one I've seen, the Hunting Fraser worn by Boghall and Bathgate. At a distance one might say "see that band over there in the blue kilts?" One wouldn't know that the green and blue stripes are equal in number and size.



    But your band there, I think, is wearing this Fraser, which I think is the pre-Allen Brothers one.

    Yes, I should have clarified, the sett in the OP is the Wilsons' sett c1800.

    Yes the Allen Brothers seemed to have simplified the original, turning a sophisticated design into one of their blockish four-equal-stripes designs.

    Thanks guys. I should add that I filched the photo off a youtube vid of an event at Cullybackey but the pipers were not identified.

    Well if they were in fact the the Cullybackey Pipeband they apparently wear Ancient Red MacPherson.

    The tenor drummer I believe is from Culleybackey PB but the accompanying pipers are not (just going by the tartans).
