Metro Chicago early Tuesday morning -- still same frigidity as "near-burb-neighbor" Grain Reaper and across-the-Lake Kilted Firefighter are enduring:
+3F/-16C and mostly sunny this morning, -13F/-25C with the wind, plus 3 1/2 inches of additional snow from yesterday afternoon-overnight.
Relatives in burb of Buffalo, New York, right on Lake Erie, 630 mi/1000 km to the east, had combined snow-and-ice-storm but not as cold. Imagine...vehicles parked outside COVERED with 4-6 inches / 10-15cm of SOLID ice.
To those downunder, please accept this writer's vile green envy at your lovely weather.

Winter may finally make it to here, just north of Pittsburgh, PA. A bit milder for this mornings walk at 23 F. Got out before daylight as the wind was supposed to pick up and drop the chill factor to -5 F. A rare sight. A young lady was out jogging. When she later returned I was about half way through shoveling (although mostly pushing) the snow off the driveway. She did about 6 miles. Both of us were well bundled up. As I wrapped up I was out for just over 2 hours. I have found that mens insulated running tights and thermals do quite well even for temps, with chill factors, in the single digits. Columbia makes a glove that is actually two gloves. A liner plus and outer water proof glove. Works quite well if you need to clench your fist inside it to warm your hand.
I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots. Einstein (maybe)

If we lived one or two states south I imagine you could. Hope you got your vehicle troubles sorted out. My truck makes horrible noises when it's this cold and makes me wonder how many more winters I'll be able to nurse it along.
