This Friday I wore my Burnett & Struth casual kilt in ancient MacCallum. It was an uneventful day till to "quitting" time when one of my newer residents coming in for happy hour saw kilted while closing the office. She was esatic telling me that she heard I wore the kilt and now she saw me. I told her about observing "kilted Fridays".

Afterwards my sweetheart and I went downtown to partake in "Restaurant Week" at Spencer Devon a new brewery with great suds and upscale restaurant. A compliment for another patron and waiter on the kilt.

You look fantastic! Love the accessorizing, especially the hose--I'd love to have a pair of those, they'd work well with my Lamont Ancient kilt and neck tie also...

The plan was ... after a day of carpentry, shower, kilt up, join wife for her meeting of the 40th High School reunion committee.

Kilt, vest, button-up shirt, tie, hose, shoes, sporran, sgian and wing tips were all ready for me to get home. Mid day, I caught a splinter in the eye and fled to the "Urgent care" office to have it removed. I didn't get home until the moment my wife and I were to join the meeting. We missed eating a good meal, in a nice restaurant, with good folks.

I got a temporary "Pirate's eye patch" instead. I'll wait for the reunion to dress out in the kilt.

First ever kilted Friday at work for me. Someone remarked how today it'll be 30+ degrees warmer than it started the week and said soon it will be shorts weather. I corrected them and said, nope, it'll be kilt weather soon! Now 20 degrees is chilly, but my kilt has put a few smiles on faces this morning. Heck, it even netted me a free doughnut at the gas station this morning! I could get used to this kilted life... I'll probably wait for it to warm up a bit more before I make another run at it though...
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The same goes for Iowa.

    From another Wisconsinite, good job!

Today we have meetings all day and no students so I wore a kilt yesterday. I decided to turn things around and did tartan on top and solid tweed below (green tweed kilt with Campbell ancient waistcoat). Sorry for the bad laptop selfie...

Now... for this weekend I will be kilted for our Burns Night celebration and will continue that all of next week at school.

Looking smart. I love the tartan waistcoat with the solid kilt. ... is this picture reversed? (my phone does that.) I ask because of the position of your kilt pin.

Sorry you missed your outing but glad the eye patch is just temporary. Heal quickly.

Yup. My laptop does that. Sometimes, if I have the time, I will import the image into a different program and flip it to correct, but I have not with this one.

I suspected as much.. It is funny the things that "jump out" at us when we have seen the Kilt. That vest is great. Is it a bespoke piece or off-the-rack?
