It looks as though that we shall have to endure whatever Imogen throws at us. Should we survive, North is where we will be before the end of the week.

We've had increasing winds all day, we sailed the first two races today but the second was extremely rough and no one even tried the third. The wind is howling around outside now.

Off the coast of Ireland it's gusting between 70 and 96MPH
On the coast of South Wales it's gusting between 59 and 81MPH
Here on the coast of Norfolk it's between 30 and 47MPH with the stronger stuff on it's way....

Drove past a couple of downed but cleared trees this morning and had to drive the wrong side of the road to get past another...

We drove to Bristol on Sunday morning in glorious Spring sunshine, but met the cloud just as we came to the city limits. The rain was just starting.
When we left the weather was beginning to get nasty, and although I have mentioned the rain so far this year has been rather persistent, it has been nothing compared to that of Sunday night.
The roads between Poole and Bristol are quite challenging - we changed our car in order to face the hills on the journey.
Although there were no trees down the amount of water dropping onto the roads was overwhelming the drains, and in many places there were flooded roads or impromptu streams across our path.

    Well, here's the forecast:

All school buses in town and the county have been cancelled today, as have two of my meetings. I've already had two meetings cancelled. I blew out the laneway once and it's ready to be done again and still coming down steadily.

I think I'll go down to the Legion for lunch, but maybe I'll keep the roof up on the car.

    I love Canada!

Chicago's about the same as Fr. Bill's part of Canada but with substantially less snow and a bit more cold.
