Most of us on XMarks either knew or know of the piper to Lord Lovat, Bill Millen, but today The Scotsman paid yet another tribute to this remarkable Highlander.

It is still not possible to watch "The Longest Day" without choking up and occasionally dabbing an eye.

Eternal honour and thanks to those who gave some, much or all during that fateful time, including those who were in the enormous Soviet offensive which was happening on the Eastern Front, to pull more Axis troops away from the West.
