I use My Family Tree, it is free, and available here.

It works fine for me and I like the user interface. I haven't had need of any advaced features so far, and it is able to accurately reflect my family with some spouse getting divorced and then marrying back into the family with a sibling of the person they divorced!!!

I have been using Family Tree for five years now with Ancestry and the Family Search (LDS) site as well, all three working well together. It is time consuming work but there is no doubt that some info will be wrong. I just found out that the last census testimony from my great grandfather had him being born in a different place in Wales than he'd noted on his death bed. So much for accuracy. Still, between the various online sites, one can get a good picture of the family. The pride we have of our heritage will never be knocked by small details that could be wrong. We are still each individually awesome and that's what counts!

I got a free copy of Family Tree Maker 2005 some years ago as a demo version. Currently, it's limited to some basic functions. If I reinstall it, I get full functionality for two weeks.

It can import/export gedcom-formatted files, link to online content (Ancestry.com), produce custom reports, etc.
