USA Kilts Materials
I was looking at the USA Kilt site. I can see the advantage of ordering a kilt that is custom made to your size.
What caught my eye was the statement that they use whatever materials they have on hand. I wouldn't want to expect a washable kilt and get one that is dry-clean only.
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with USA kilts and can shed some light on this
Thanks!

the new sight does not list the fabric for each tartan
the older sight did maybe that could get added back.

Most are poly/vis. Just ask Rocky about the fabric in a specific tartan.

The new site has some bugs to be worked out... The listingof materials is something that we are going to bring back to the site (when we can get it updated).
If you have a questions about a particular tartan, drop us a line or call us at the shop (610.650.USAK). We'd be happy to go into detail with you.
Hope this helps...

No good Rocky, everything we need to know before making a purchase should be on the site. Now we got to (as per your suggestion) use snail-mail or make long distance phone calls. Hey man, this is the net, we shouldn't have to do that anymore!- Longforgan

I am a repeat customer of USAK and I think you might not be giving them a fair shake. This is a little two-person operation, and they have their hands full making kilts. I don't think it's fair to expect them to have a web site chock full of information like going to a major ecommerce portal.
Just pick up the phone and call. Rocky & Kelly are a lot cooler than any lame web site anyway. They were very willing to discuss at length with me the relative merits of the different fabrics they had on hand, what they recommended, etc. There is a lot of stuff in the shop, fabric-wise, that isn't on the web site and I don't think it would be fair to expect them to keep a full tartan inventory online and up to date at all times. It's literally two people with sewing machines working their asses off. We're not talking about Amazon.com here with a multi-million dollar war chest from a successful IPO to work with.
