You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

Have lived in the Sonoran Desert and high desert of Arizona for 45 years, last ten or so kilted. The material the kilt is made of makes little difference in the heat since the bottom is wide open.

Have worn 16 ounce wool and even leather kilts in heat well over 100 degrees with no problem.

The secret to kilting is to buy a lot of kilts from a lot of vendors, in a lot of price ranges and a lot of fabrics. You'll figure out what you enjoy/need/want best and stock up on more of them.

    Welcome to the addiction.

Alright. The UT is here. First thing to note is that it's much heavier duty than I thought it would be. It's a little tight, but I am losing weight. I would have prefered a stud in the back seam but I'll live. The pockets are a little tricky, but I'll probably get used to them. I do like how they open. Wide on top and narrow at the bottom. They just pop open. The closure system seems fine. 9 snaps in total and two buckles. The drop length is perfect. I wear it at my hips and it rests just at the bottom of the knee. I know it's not traditional, but I like that.

So. I just need to order my Co Kerry and Ayshire fabric for the pockets and then I'll post pics.

I had a similar response to receiving mine. Definitely heavier weight than I expected, and just a bit higher than I thought. I'm wearing my gray Standard right now. It's just a bit on the tight side--but like you, I'm losing weight. I drop 15-20 lbs every summer once I can get outside and bike/hike/walk. Good luck getting used to it!
