    Alteration question

    Hello,

I purchased a kilt knowing full well that I would have to make an adjustment to the waist. I know how to do it, but I note that there is no interfacing or stabilizer under where I want to move the strap on the inner apron. My concern is that it will pull and warp the fabric. Should I sew some interfacing in there? Will it prevent warping?

    Are my concerns founded?

Yup - if you sew buckles and straps on without canvas and a stabilizer, you'll wind up with a kilt that stretches out when you buckle it on tightly. If you can't see canvas in the apron and underapron, there probably isn't any in the pleats. The only real way to fix this is to take the lining off, add stabilizer and canvas, and then put everything back together again.
