Looks good to me also. Your kilt will slip at times and seem too long over the knees, but I expect you won't feel it an issue that a minor adjustment can fix.

With my old and traditional eye your towel test looks all wrong. Too low at the knee and not high enough at the top. OK I know camera angles can give a false look, but I cannot even see the bottom part of the knee! All the knee cap should be visable for the traditional look and most of it should be visible for the more modern look. I note that you say that you measured from the belly button to the knee. Yes I quite understand that every kilt maker has his own method of measuring but--------which part of the knee? I am no kilt maker and it also depends what you as the customer wants, but most go for the more traditional height of top of the knee cap or just a wee tad above. How about trying the top of the kneecap look and if you like it, take your measurements from there? Then you can worry about where you want the top part! Above the BB( yes BB's are not necessarily in the same place for everyone) is perfectly sound too if that is what you like. I would check again with your kilt maker on the measurements he requires, but should the towel test turn out the same again I would find another kilt maker.

I would agree with Jock here. Try raising your towel up about an inch to get the traditional fit.

The camera angle is making the towel look a lot lower than it actually is. If you'll notice, at the bottom of the frame you can see the tops of his feet.

OP, while I think you're good to go, if you want to try again with a photo have the person with the camera kneel or crouch instead of stand.

    This. Ratspike is wise.

True about the camera angle, but I agree with Jock and Liam that the towel should be higher on your waist for a traditional kilt.
