Hello to Barb, Steve, Bobbi, and kiltie friends,
Great photos! The tartans are wonderful.
I think Ian has the tartan tight mystery figured out.

Day 5 is almost done -- "kilting" all day, a barbecue in the evening, and now some die-hard Kampers are back working (and it is almost 9 pm). Here are some photos from the day:

Good morning campers,
Another fine day in Victoria!
A wet fog and a slight breeze. Gonna be a fine day for finishing. Let's get cracking....after coffee.
The morning baking is so very nice. My wife has received notice of the new standard. (Could be the last camp)

I realise the kilts are not yet finished, but it is disappointing to see that Steve's is the only kilt in view at the BBQ.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Day 6 -- the Final Day of Kilt Kamp 2016, and a number of people (myself included) suffer from a serious case of "fried brain". However, here are some more photos, including one of the elusive tartan tights!

The Group Photo from Kilt Kamp, including the mail carrier who probably delivered a lot of the fabric!

Not all Kampers picked conservative liners....Royal Scot tartan

MacNaughton tartan

Okiwen seemed to think the tights would look better on her.....

Flyingpiper wearing the kilt he made, playing his bagpipes! RCMP tartan

The kilts were still being stitched, and right after the barbecue ended, folks went back up to stitch. See the group shot for some of the kilts. They look awesome!

Thanks!
Thank you so much to Bobbi and Steve for hosting Kilt Kamp, and to Barbara for attending an sharing her vast store of experience and knowledge on the Art of Kiltmaking.
This was a week full of fun, a bit of work, and friends old and new.
I am glad to have met my fellow Kampers, and look forward to crossing paths in the future... If any of you make it back this way, be sure to look me up!

People have been dispersing all day -- some to planes, some to ferries. A few went to see the woolly mammoth (Lyuba) exhibit at the Royal BC Museum, others walked up to Craigdarroch Castle. And a few even returned to the kilt shop to do finishing touches on their kilts.
Last evening we had a small gathering at our home, and Bryden brought champagne! Seems there is a line in Barb's book about once you finish the kilt, you need to pop open a bottle. We celebrated in high fashion, while laying out the plans for Kilt Kamp 2017 in New York!

I will try to post more photos of the finished kilts here in this thread as I obtain them, or Kampers can post them themselves.
The small swatch of tartan on which the bottles are resting is the Scottish Wildcat tartan as woven by Truitt.

Who did the skull liner? That is a great tartan. So many tartans, so little time.
Congratulations to all the kilters!
