This fabric is owned and woven only by House of Edgar. They list right on their website (Links kindly listed by another member above) that these fabrics are medium weight.

It is very plain from the description "While the larger sett is more appropriate for kilting this is perhaps the better choice for other apparel. "
Yes, Thank you, the link I had already looked at and my concerns.
But I do not want to argue with the suppliers, I just think it's very unfortunate.
