If your waistcoat doesn't exactly match the jacket, then it's a visual oops. You sort of have to buy them together, made from the same bolt of fabric.
Since you can't do that, get something that will "work" with a lot of other stuff. It will almost certainly look just fine with charcoal gray. My dos centavos.
